„Law for the Protection of the Republic“ rescinded

On 23 July 1929 the „Law for the Protection of the Republic“, which had been in effect since 1922, is rescinded without substitution. It was enacted in July of 1922 immediately after the murder of foreign minister Walther Rathenau (DDP) by members of the extremist right-wing Organisation Consul.
