GATT accord

On 30 October 1947 representatives of 23 nations sign the heretofore most comprehensive international trade agreement – the „General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade“. The GATT Agreement is based on the principle of most-favoured-nation treatment towards all parties to the agreement. The Federal Republic of Germany will join it in 1951.
