Awarding of the Nobel Prizes

On 10 December 1946 two Germans are awarded a Nobel Prize in Stockholm: The author Hermann Hesse, who lives in Switzerland, receives the Nobel Literature Prize for his life’s work. Retrospective to the year 1944, Otto Hahn receives the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his discovery of nuclear fission.
